If there’s one thing you can say about the weather in the Atlanta area lately, it’s that it’s unpredictable. All of us at Alpha Roofing Company get it – we’ve been handling the roofing needs of West Georgia homeowners and businesses for years. We could have a team from our company on a roof in Douglasville and another company team on a roof in Temple and if they looked up, it’s like they’d be looking at a different sky!
These days, it seems like the unpredictability of the weather is not the only thing we have to worried about. It seems like Mother Nature’s moods are more extreme than ever. One day it’s record heat, the next we’re worrying about a flash flood or devastating winds.
The Forecast for Your Roof
The only way to be prepared for the unprepared – as well as the unprecedented – is to borrow a page from the Boy Scouts of America and Be Prepared!
The last thing you want is to discover that you have a problem with your roof when the rain is coming down by the bucket full or the wind is whipping the trees – and just about everything else in sight. Before a storm is bearing down on your property, you should consider having your roof inspected.
“Experts say one benefit of scheduling a ‘peace of mind’ type of roof inspection every one or two years is the ability to catch potential roofing problems before they become bigger. It’s also helpful to get a professional estimate of how much useful life your roof might have left,” the experts at Angie’s List say.
According to them, a roof inspection will usually look to assess:
- The overall appearance of your roof, both on the inside and the outside. “This will indicate whether there’s surface deterioration or any physical damage,” according to Angie’s List.
- If you have any ceiling cracks or leaks. (That’s important because you may have a leak and not even know it!)
- If your fascia, roof vents and gutters as well as any extras like skylights or chimneys are in good shape.
- The condition of your shingles, in particular an inspector will look for evidence of shingles that are curled or broken. An inspection will also determine if you have any missing shingles.
If you have questions about the condition of the roofing on your Carol County home or the roof on your Harlson County business, the pros at Alpha Roofing and Construction of Atlanta are here for you.
